
Yes, it's cold in Montreal in the spring and I realize most people, having endured winter, don't want to go somewhere colder for spring break. But we are making it an annual tradition to go to the sugaring cabins (cabanes à sucre) during Feb-April to eat a family style buffet of endless food, run from tree to tree watching sap drip into stainless steel buckets, rolling our own boiled maple lollipops on the snow like Laura Wilder, and listening to someone play the spoons and fiddle while singing a French Canadian ditty. Then we load up our carryon with cans of the season's best to bring back home.
