Burn Math Class

I've always had a knack for math, mainly in the sense that I could understand how to apply the black box operations that got to the right answer. But understanding how the black box was created: that's a whole other story. Now that I have kids starting school, I'm a lot more interested in the why. This book is not dry; its playful title would suggests as much. A fascinating dive into how many of the things we take for granted (area=length*width) came to be.
